Highly Selective Detection of Hydrogen Sulfide by Simple Cu-CNTs Nanocomposites

The presented work is devoted to the preparation of nanocomposites based on multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and copper (Cu) nanoparticles by a simple chemical method, study their sensing properties hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas. Cu decorated (MWCNTs/Cu) were prepared deposition very thin layers pristine functionalized (f-MWCNTs) using both physical (electron beam evaporation (EBE)) (electrochemical deposition) methods. MWCNTs/Cu in two above-mentioned ways, studied, results comparatively analyzed. effect functionalization MWCNTs oxygen-containing groups these f-MWCNT/Cu has been investigated. All sensors demonstrated high sensitivity selectivity H2S air at room temperature. structure obtained method about 5 times (~400%) higher (∆R/R0) gas compared similar method. temperature sensory characteristics (response self-recovery time) f-MWCNTs/Cu was also studied.
